Despite the high number of deaths and hospitalizations, most make it through a COVID-19 infection. Is the immunity lifelong? Do you need a vaccine?
For those who contract COVID-19 and survive, immunity starts to decline precipitously after several months.
Natural immunity does not last as long as being fully vaccinated.
On the positive side, the vaccines work quite well when given to those who have been exposed to the virus and contracted the infection.
