KYW Medical Report: Post-pandemic, will mask-wearing still be the norm?

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Most medical professionals knew that wearing masks had value, but few recognized how incredibly protective they really are. So post-pandemic, will masking carry on?

Other cultures have stuck to it. People in Asian countries have long worn masks in public, especially when they felt sick — it is optional and by personal choice. There is no doubt that it's a good idea to wear a mask if you are sick so you don't infect other people.


Don't be surprised if you see doctors and nurses wearing masks more often even after COVID-19 levels are low and vaccination rates are high.

It is not too hard to imagine a time when future generations look back in disbelief when they see old videos of people questioning the value of masks.
