PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — As a growing number of people get vaccinated, more are feeling comfortable about taking public transportation again. Even if you’re vaccinated, there are things you should still do to protect others as well as yourself.
Ventilation is important on buses and vans, which serve everything from schools and child care programs to just getting around town. Along with other strategies, such as mask-wearing for people over 2 years old and physical distancing, keeping vehicle windows open — when it does not create a safety or health hazard — is a very important step to take, if possible.
Having more windows open is more helpful, but even just cracking a few windows is better than keeping all windows closed.
Ventilation is key to reducing virus concentration, which is why eating outdoors in smaller numbers is preferable to indoor dining.
