PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — On the day you are scheduled to get your COVID-19 vaccine, it is safe to continue taking your prescribed medications as usual.

Certainly, if you have concerns, you can always talk with your doctor. But what about acetaminophen or ibuprofen to deal with discomfort or fever?


The medical thinking at this time is that it is possible that these medications could potentially have a subtle impact on the buildup of protective antibodies. However, vaccine experts say that it is best to avoid them if you can, but don't be overly concerned if you took the medications.
