PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Families are making plans for Thanksgiving, and doctors are sharing some of their ideas for the gathering.
The vast majority of doctors tell me they are skipping in-person gatherings and connecting virtually. But for those opting for an in-person gathering, they are being kept quite small.
There are common steps being taken by most: social distancing, wearing masks, not sharing food and either keeping windows open or eating outdoors, with many saying that the visit is more important than risking a meal.
Finally, physicians and health care workers are in a strange group. Many of us are actually the people to be feared at the gathering.
Serving on the front lines puts us at daily risk, and many physicians live with the daily stress of potentially infecting family members — something far more stressful than anxiety over being personally infected.
