PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Most Americans look at the COVID-19 vaccine as a way to stay out of the hospital.
The reason for that thinking is quite simple: With the hospitalization of millions and the deaths of hundreds of thousand, the emergence of the COVID-19 vaccine dramatically reduced these numbers among those who chose to be vaccinated.
For those not vaccinated, the risk remains. In recent months, we have learned something new. Among the group of people between 18 and 40 who are far less at risk of being hospitalized, the risk of long COVID-19 still remains.
The vaccine dramatically cuts down the chances of not only infection but long COVID-19.
The word needs to reach young adults that holding off getting the vaccine could have long-term implications.
