PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Vaccines are widely available, so how is that changing the landscape of who is at risk of COVID-19?
If you are vaccine-hesitant, take a serious look at your decision. Don’t think about greater society — getting the vaccine obviously helps everyone because it slows the spread of the virus. But what does it mean to you?
Here are the scientific facts: As a growing number of people enter society and fewer mask requirements remain, those who have been vaccinated still can test positive, but the odds are overwhelming that they won’t get very sick.
But if you haven’t been vaccinated, you are no different than people were more than a year ago.
As an individual, your body will react to infection the same way it would have reacted before. You may have no symptoms, serious symptoms, end up in the hospital, or even die.
The vaccine takes your own defenses and makes them far more powerful.
