SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Camden County are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest after a malnourished dog was left for dead in a dumpster.

Lindenwold police said the small, white dog was placed in a plastic trash bag and dropped in a dumpster at the Belmont Apartments on White Horse Pike. The incident happened back in March.

Police were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call. They found the dog alive, but it was malnourished and had several severe injuries.

The dog was taken to the Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center in Blackwood, where it underwent successful surgeries. It has since recovered and found a new owner.

Authorities released a photo of the woman, who is considered a person of interest. They ask anyone who may recognize her to give them a call. Anonymous tips can also be submitted on the Lindenwold police website.
