PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A teenager has been charged in connection with a fatal crash in Montgomery County last month.

Pennsylvania State Police say on April 24, Logan Freed, 18, of Telford, was driving south at a high rate of speed on White’s Mill Road in Salford Township and hit an object between Reeler and Badman roads, causing the car to overturn.

A 15-year-old boy, also from Telford, was in the car. Police say he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car during the crash.

According to investigators, Freed left the scene without reporting the crash. An automated signal from the Kia he was driving notified authorities of the crash and the location.

The 15-year-old died.

Freed was charged on Friday with offenses including vehicular homicide, reckless driving, failure to stop or render aid and related charges.

He turned himself in to State Police Monday morning.
