NEW JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A retired South Jersey cop has been arrested after officials said he sexually assaulted a teenage girl.
An investigation began into 67-year-old Louis Baselice of Maple Shade after officials said acquaintances of the teen reported the alleged abuse.
They said Baselice, who worked for the Haddonfield Police Department, bought the girl an electric scooter and cellphone, and gave her his credit card number to order food.
He was taken into custody on Tuesday and is pending a detention hearing in Superior Court.
Baselice is charged with sexual assault and child endangerment.
