Lower Merion police searching for suspects, car in deadly home invasion

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Lower Merion Township are searching for two people believed to be involved in a deadly home invasion in Wynnewood early Sunday. One person was killed and another was wounded.

It happened at a home on Meredith Road, right off City Avenue, around 2:20 a.m. Sunday. Police said at least two people broke into the home and shots were fired.

A man in his 20s was killed and his mother was wounded. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office released images of two vehicles they believe were involved.

Police are looking to identify the driver of a white car, who they said fled the scene.

Investigators were looking for a green Jeep that was stolen during the home invasion. They recovered it in West Philadelphia on Sunday.

Police did not say if anything was taken from the house, or if this was a random or targeted attack.

Officials said there is a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever is responsible. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Lower Merion Township police at 610-645-6231 or the Montgomery County Detective Bureau at 610-226-5553.
