PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Delaware County man is charged with human trafficking and accused of running a prostitution ring out of a Montgomery County hotel.
Investigators received a tip earlier this month that 25-year-old Cornell Scott-Milbourne, from Crum Lynne, was renting three rooms at the Hampton Inn on Chemical Road in Plymouth Meeting. Six people were staying in those three rooms, including Scott-Milbourne, three women and a baby.
The person who tipped off investigators told them they believed there were signs of prostitution.
When detectives served Scott-Milbourne a warrant outside the hotel, they said he had $3,000 in cash on him. When asked where he got the money, detectives said he told them he receives Pandemic Unemployment Assistance.
According to the criminal complaint, one of the women in the room told detectives that she was being held captive and that Scott-Milbourne gave her pills so she could “keep working,” as she saw several men in a single day.
On the day detectives served the warrant, she told them she had been with five men and made $3,000.
She said Scott-Milbourne would take them shopping for clothes and makeup or pay to get their nails done, but he kept all of the money they made.
The woman also accuses him of raping her and threatening her with violence.
Scott-Milbourne is charged with five counts of human trafficking as well as sexual assault, indecent assault, and promoting and living off of prostitution.
His bail was set at $1 million, and he remains at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
