PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia Police arrested a man Tuesday they said was responsible for a road rage stabbing over the weekend in Delaware County.
Authorities said 43-year-old Anthony Williams stabbed a man on Sunday morning around 7 a.m. in Clifton Heights.
Police in Delaware County said it happened after a car pulled behind a black SUV at the corner of Church and West Washington Avenue. When the SUV failed to move, the driver of the car told police he got out and went to the vehicle’s driver side window and noticed Williams unconscious inside. The driver said he then knocked on the window.
Officials said Williams regained consciousness he began cursing and yelling at the other driver, then exited the SUV, chased the man and stabbed him multiple times with a pocket knife. Williams then fled the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 33-year-old man, was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery for his stab wounds. He is expected to recover from his injuries.
Williams is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of an instrument of crime and reckless endangerment.
