PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two men were stabbed outside a bar in Chinatown early Friday morning.
It happened around 3 a.m. at Tango Lounge near 10th and Arch streets. Philadelphia police said a man was drunk and started acting aggressively toward other customers and took drinks from their tables, so employees threw him out.
Police said he started banging on the windows with a knife. Workers and patrons went outside to calm him down and prevent him from breaking the windows.
However, that’s when he confronted two bar customers, ages 31 and 34, and stabbed them, investigators said. One is in critical condition; the other is stable.
SEPTA Transit Police arrested the suspect about half a block away at 11th and Arch streets.
Correction: KYW previously stated the stabbing happened outside Lion Sports Bar. Police confirmed the location as Tango Lounge. The current story reflects that change.
