Man charged in series of armed robberies, abductions in Philadelphia

Police have arrested one of the men they believe was driving around Northeast Philadelphia in a U-Haul van last month and robbing and abducting people at gunpoint.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police have arrested one of the men they believe was driving around Northeast Philadelphia in a U-Haul van last month and robbing and abducting people at gunpoint.

Prince Amoabeng, 25, of Langhorne, Bucks County, was arrested on Tuesday.

Police say he was one of two men responsible for at least three robberies over two days in late June.

In two of the cases, the men forced the victims into the van and threatened them. And in one case, they drove a man to a convenience store and forced him to take money out of an ATM.

He faces many charges, including robbery, carjacking, kidnapping, aggravated assault, gun offenses and terroristic threats.
