Man charged in connection with attack on postal worker

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police have arrested a man they say harassed and attacked a postal worker in the Frankford section of the city while she delivered mail over the weekend.

Police identified the man as Fabian Colon, 25, and said that he approached the postal worker's mail truck Saturday afternoon as it blocked a one-way street. Over the course of the encounter, Colon verbally berated and physically assaulted the postal worker.

Video posted to social media shows Colon attacking the postal worker multiple times.

Police arrested Colon near Oakland and Orthodox streets. He has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery, theft and recklessly endangering another person.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries.

According to charging documents, Colon posted bail and is due in court for his preliminary hearing on Oct. 21.
