PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Chester County man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of another man in Coatesville. Police are still searching for several other suspects.
Darius Bolden, 23, was taken into custody on Monday and charged with first-degree murder and related offenses in the killing of 23-year-old Skyy Zayaz-Toney.
The Chester County District Attorney’s Office said it was shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Sunday when police responded to a call of shots fired on the 1000 block of West Chester Road, near Oak Street, in Coatesville.
There, officers found Zayaz-Toney suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Paoli Hospital, where he died.
Police said they found more than two dozen bullets, shell casings and bullet fragments at the scene. They also recovered a gold Chevrolet Malibu that police believe was used in the shooting.
Investigators believe there were multiple shooters, and they are seeking more information about who was in that car Sunday night. They are asking residents to check their home security cameras.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Coatesville Police Department at 610-384-2300.
Bolden is being held without bail.
