PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 40-year-old New Jersey man is charged with murder after prosecutors said he shot and killed a woman and wounded a second person Saturday morning.
Police said Ramon Luis Acevedo called 911 to report the shootings at a home on Elizabeth Avenue in Paulsboro, N.J., in Gloucester County. Authorities said Acevedo deliberately shot an adult woman in the head and accidentally wounded a second person.
The second victim fled the home after being shot. Police said Acevedo told them he was startled while still holding the gun when it fired and struck the second victim, who is being treated for the gunshot wound.
If found guilty, Acevedo could face up to 50 years in prison.
