PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police have made an arrest in connection with a deadly pedestrian crash last year in Kensington.

Tavis Fields, 21, of Philadelphia, turned himself in to police Thursday afternoon.

On Oct. 26, authorities said Fields was driving a Nissan Rogue with four passengers inside and attempted to make a left turn from northbound Frankford Avenue onto eastbound Allegheny Avenue. He lost control and hit two women at a bus stop.

One of those women, 53-year-old Clarissa Haerrald, was killed. Another 22-year-old woman was critically injured.

Fields is charged with homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, simple assault and related offenses.
