SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is in critical condition at the hospital after being shot three times on the sidewalk along Oregon Avenue in South Philly, near both Oregon Diner and Whitman Plaza, on Tuesday morning.
It happened just after 8:30 a.m., as police responded to reports of a person with a gun on Oregon Ave near the diner and plaza.
The victim is a man in his 30s, and he was shot in the chest, arm and buttocks. He was taken to Jefferson Hospital in a private vehicle and remains in critical condition.
Police continue to investigate the scene, and interview potential witnesses nearby. They taped off an area near the diner, where some bullet holes could be seen on cars in the parking lot.
No official word has been put out yet by authorities, but police believe the perpetrator fled the scene in a white vehicle after the shooting.
There have been no arrests made in connection with the shooting and no weapon has been recovered.
