PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 20-year-old man has died after being shot 11 times during a quadruple shooting late Wednesday afternoon in Southwest Philadelphia, according to police. Another shooting victim was in critical but stable condition.
Neighbors tell KYW Newsradio's Antionette Lee that the quadruple shooting occurred at the memorial of another victim of gun violence, one year after that incident happened.
Philadelphia Police say the four men were shot while standing on Kingsessing Avenue near South 55th Street at about 4:15 p.m.
According to police, gunshots were found throughout the 20-year-old victim's body. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, but died shortly after the shooting.
A 29-year-old man was listed in critical but stable condition after being shot five times. Two other shooting victims, men who are 19 and 23, were listed in stable condition.
Police are searching for the shooter, as well as the weapons used in the shooting.
The shooting happened at a corner right across from Mitchell Elementary School. The school was not open at the time.
