PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Thursday in Overbrook that left a 27-year-old man dead.
According to authorities, it was around 11:30 a.m. when the man was shot seven times in the chest on Gainor Road near its intersection with 54th Street and a block from the Wynnefield Baptist Church.
The victim was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital and pronounced dead around half an hour later.
Police have yet to recover a weapon and urge anyone with information to contact them at 215-686-3334 or to leave tips at 215-686-TIPS.
There's now word yet from police on a potential suspect or suspects, but a $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest or conviction.
