PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is in police custody after he fired shots at officers and barricaded himself inside a home in Northeast Philadelphia early Friday morning, authorities said.

Around 7 a.m., police went to a house on Veree Road, near Oxford Avenue, in Burholme for a report of a man with a gun.

When they arrived, police said a 59-year-old man fired shots at them through the front door.

None of the officers were injured. The cops did not return fire.

The man surrendered to police after about two hours.
