NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP (KYW Newsradio) — Just after 8 a.m. on Sunday morning, residents in a Bucks County municipality were asked to shelter in place by law enforcement for the second day in a row.

Out of precaution for a developing barricade situation that began as police responded to a domestic incident, Newtown Township asked for residents in the Headley Development area of the township to shelter-in-place. Traffic was also asked to avoid the area near the intersection of Newtown-Yardley Road and Headley Drive, and nearby homes were evacuated.

A man was taken into custody around 10 a.m. Sunday and the shelter-in-place was lifted.

Police have not identified the man and have not provided further information on the arrest. In a post on Facebook announcing the lifting of the shelter-in-place, Newtown Township Police said it could provide more information at a later time.

It comes a day after a three-and-a-half hour shelter-in-place in Falls Township on Saturday, as law enforcement attempted to locate 26-year-old Andre Gordon, who law enforcement said killed his stepmother, 52-year-old Karen Gordon, 13-year-old sister Kara Gordon, and mother of his two kids, 25-year-old Taylor Daniel.

Gordon then fled to Trenton where he was thought to be barricaded inside a residence on Phillips Avenue for around five hours, but he was eventually caught walking on the street a few blocks away by patrolling Trenton Police officers around 5:15 p.m.
