PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 41-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting in East Frankford overnight.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday on Margaret Street, near Frankford Avenue.

Officers responded and found a man hurt, but he was conscious and talking.

“He was standing on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of Margaret with his wife when a silver SUV pulled up alongside of him, rolled down the passenger-side window, and fired at least three shots, striking the victim,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

He was shot in the buttocks, knee and foot, police said. The car fled.

The victim told police there were no words exchanged before the shots were fired.

The man is now in stable condition in the hospital.

Police are searching for the shooter and investigating the motive.
