HAMILTON TOWNSHIP (KYW Newsradio) — Police in New Jersey believe a man shot and killed his girlfriend and her 10-year-old daughter before turning the gun on himself.
Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta Marbrey said police were called to a home on the 200 block of Henry Street in Hamilton Township at about 4 a.m. Thursday, responding to a 9-11 call that came from inside the home. They found a man, woman, and 10-year-old girl dead inside the house.
Police said it appears to be a murder-suicide, and have not released the names of the victims or shooter.
The man was apparently living with the woman and her daughter for about a year, and the child’s father told NBC10 that he didn’t know of any issues inside the home.
“She’s always strong, positive, thinking of somebody else, help them,” he said.
The father said his daughter was just finishing the fourth grade.
