PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — One of the suspects accused in a North Philadelphia birthday party shooting last summer, which left two men dead and a woman and child injured, pleaded guilty Thursday morning for his role in the incident.

Lonzell McDaniel pleaded guilty to third-degree murder and a firearms charge, admitting that on July 26, 2025, he fired down Hunting Park Avenue, near 19th Street, after hearing gunfire outside the home he was in.

Detectives said an argument broke out during an outdoor party and someone opened fire, killing a 26-year-old man and wounding a woman in the arm.

After hearing the gunshots, police said McDaniel fired down the street, killing another man and injuring a 7-year-old with a graze wound to the head.

Five other charges McDaniel faced, including reckless endangerment and gun offenses, were dropped.

The other two suspects have been identified: Lawrence Coleman is expected to have a waiver trial this fall. Officials are still looking for the other suspect, Virgil Williams, who has not yet been captured.
