PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is hospitalized after a domestic dispute led to a shooting inside a Society Hill hotel Sunday morning.
Shortly before 10:30 a.m., police entered the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing on Columbus Boulevard near Dock Street because of a reported shooting.
Once police entered the lobby of the hotel, they said a 25-year-old woman approached them and identified herself as the shooter. She turned herself and the gun in.
Officers and medics then located the 25-year-old man she said she shot in a stairway. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. Medics took him to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but officials said he’s since been upgraded to stable.
Investigators said preliminary evidence pointed to a physical fight between the two inside a ninth-floor room before the shooting happened.
Police are now examining whether the two have a history of domestic disputes.
The suspect was taken to a hospital for injuries she suffered during the altercation.
KYW Newsradio has reached out to the hotel for comment.
