PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two men are injured — one, critically — after a shooting in East Falls Friday night.
It happened a little after 8 p.m. near West Abbotsford Avenue and Fox Street, just off the ramp to Roosevelt Boulevard.
Police Inspector DF Pace told our newsgathering partners at NBC10 that an argument broke out near the Bakers Centre shopping plaza shortly before shots were fired. Then, two people got out of a Jeep and started firing at a Kia SUV.
They said the 23-year-old driver of the Kia was shot in the face and taken to a nearby hospital, where he’s listed in critical condition. Officials said a 23-year-old man who was walking past when the shooting happened was struck in the arm. Some shell casings were found near the shopping center.
Pace said many of the people in the vehicles fled the scene on foot.
Officers reportedly found a gun inside the Kia, but haven't determined whether it was used in the shooting.
