PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man was shot and killed when he stepped off a SEPTA bus in Oxford Circle Sunday night. Police said he and the shooter got into an argument on the bus.

“We don’t know what the exact reason for the shooting,” said police captain Anthony Ginaldi. “Most likely some type of altercation on the bus and an exchange of words.”

Police said they both got off the Route 59 bus at the stop near Castor Avenue and Van Kirk Street around 11:30 p.m. Then, the shooter pulled a gun on the victim and shot him in the face and chest, killing him.

The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Sawee Kofa, of Lawndale.

The shooter got away. Police said they talked to witnesses, and they are reviewing surveillance video from the bus to try to identify him.
