PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man was stabbed 11 times at the PATCO station at 15th and Locust streets in Center City.
Police say the incident happened just before 10 p.m. Thursday on the stairway of the station. PATCO said the altercation took place between two homeless individuals.
The victim was taken to Jefferson University Hospital in critical condition. He is now stable.
A weapon was recovered from the scene. No arrests have been made at this time.
In light of the incident, PATCO said it is assigning additional police officers to the area until further notice to protect the "safety and security of our passengers and employees."
