PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police say a 55-year-old man using a walker was hit and killed while crossing the street early Saturday in North Philadelphia.

Police identified the victim as Brian Howard Lloyd. They say he was struck around 6 a.m. at Broad and Poplar streets.

According to investigators, a black SUV, possibly a Porsche, was traveling northbound on Broad Street, as Lloyd was on the west side attempting to cross the street, using the crosswalk.

The SUV hit Lloyd, causing him to land on another vehicle — a yellow and green Kia — that was traveling behind it, before fleeing northbound on Broad.

Lloyd was pronounced dead at the scene within minutes.

Philadelphia police shared surveillance footage of the car speeding past Broad Street and Girard Avenue.

Police ask anyone with information to contact the Crash Investigation Division at 215-686-3181.
