PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities in Philadelphia are looking for a man they say shot a 16-year-old girl in the leg early last week.

On June 13 around 1 p.m., near Broad Street and Chelten Avenue, police say some young women were fighting about social media posts when shots rang out.

“A male individual from a group of people who were witnessing the fight pulled out a gun, fired that gun six times and struck the 16-year-old female in the leg,” said Chief Inspector Ben Naish.

Naish said they were quickly able to identify who they believe is the shooter.

“The investigators from Northwest Detectives obtained an arrest warrant. The suspect has been identified as Rasheed Black. He is 23 years old 5 feet, 8 inches, 180 pounds. We have not been able to locate him since we got the warrant and we are looking for help,” he said.

Anyone who may know him and know his whereabouts is urged to call the Northwest Detectives Division at 215-686-3353. The call can remain anonymous.
