PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two people are injured — one, critically — after their car was shot in North Philadelphia Saturday morning.
Police said it all unfolded around 1 a.m. along the 2300 block of North Myrtlewood Street. The man was in the driver’s seat, and the woman was in the passenger’s seat when shots rang out, striking their car several times.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the 28-year-old woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the highway near the car. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she’s listed in critical condition.
The man, age 26, was shot in the leg and ran off to his girlfriend’s house. She later drove him to a hospital for treatment. He is expected to be OK.
A motive is not yet known. An investigation is underway.
