PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are looking for a group of about 10 kids on e-bikes who wreaked havoc in Marple Township, Delaware County, on Tuesday evening.

Police said the kids were riding in a “reckless and unsafe manner” on South Sproul Road. They also rode around Cardinal O’Hara High School and caused damage to the baseball and softball fields.

A man tried to stop them, and one of the kids assaulted him, police said. The man suffered minor injuries.

Then, the group headed to the Wawa on Sproul Road, where police said they continued “their disrespectful and dangerous behavior, generally wreaking havoc.”

The kids then took off, some going as fast as 45 miles per hour on the e-bikes.

Police briefly pursued them but gave up the chase out of safety concerns.

Marple Township police are working to identify the juveniles. They ask anyone who saw or recorded these incidents to contact police at 610-356-1500, 610-356-6098, or gdesimone@marplepolice.com.
