PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — An 18-year-old was shot outside of a McDonald's in Tacony Tuesday night, and bullets flew through the windows and the door of the restaurant.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. outside the McDonald's on Torresdale Avenue, near Levick Street.
Police said the shooting took place in the parking lot. Someone fired 17 shots — most of them rifle rounds. Five of the shots went through the windows and door of the building.
An 18-year-old was shot in the hip. He ran into the fast-food place for help. Police found in him the bathroom and took him to the hospital, where he is now in stable condition.
Police said it was lucky no one else was hit. Inside the restaurant, they said there were 10 employees and 10 customers, including several children. Many of the customers ran away after the shooting.
Police have not made any arrests. They are looking at the restaurant's surveillance video to try to identify a suspect.
