There are many different causes of cognitive decline. While most people think about Alzheimer's disease as a dramatic cause, brain functioning can be affected by vascular and metabolic issues. This is one of the major reasons why scientists are looking at factors like diet and exercise and their role as contributing causes.


The most recent report found foods high in flavanols can help slow down memory loss. Flavanols can be found in fruits, vegetables and wine.

Aerobic exercise thirty minutes each day can make a major difference with a positive impact on blood flow and oxygen delivery to the brain. Lifestyle clearly plays a role.
