PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The CDC recently changed some of its COVID-19 guidelines. The changes were expected, because a growing number of people have been vaccinated against COVID-19, exposed to the virus, or both — but they can be confusing.
These are the essentials:
— When COVID-19 transmission in a community is high, masks are still recommended indoors.
— Efforts still should be made to optimize ventilation.
— People who test positive should still stay home for at least five days and wear a mask around others for 10 days.
There is no doubt that vaccines will remain with us and medications will continue to be developed. Another certainty: As COVID-19 shifts, we will need to shift as well.
