PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There is a subtle but important difference between stress and anxiety.
Stress is extremely common and it is a part of many of our lives. Stress can lead to many symptoms, including achiness, irritability and even a loss of sleep.
There are ways to cope with stress, like exercising and recognizing the underlying cause and trying to deal with it. But there is another condition that is often not recognized: generalized anxiety disorder.
A major symptom is excessive worrying lasting longer than six months. One way to recognize if you have generalized anxiety disorder is if the reason for worry changes on a daily basis but the anxiety remains.
Talk with your doctor if you think this might be an issue that you are facing.
