PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — If your knees hurt when you are going up and down the steps or if you find yourself in pain getting in and out of your car, it is easy to think you have arthritis.

It is quite possible that you might, but before you spend more time in pain, get evaluated and also consider physical therapy with the evaluation.

In many cases, you may have muscle tightness or inflammation of tendons causing the pain. Sometimes, all it takes is stretching and a strengthening program to solve the problem.
