PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Social circumstances and determinants play a big role in our overall health, and many new studies are being performed looking at the impact of things like education, ZIP code, diet and family dynamics.
One of the latest studies is in the British Medical Journal, which found that the combination of private school education and college education is linked to better health.
Prior studies have linked education with better health, but this study has specified the type of schooling that can improve health.
The article stresses the importance of reducing health inequities and paying greater attention to quality education and opportunities for all groups, not just those who can afford private education.
