PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — If you exercise frequently or you are a moderate exerciser who wants to maintain muscle strength as you get older, it is important to get protein in your diet.

While some choose to take protein supplements, there are certain foods that can really help you out. Fish, poultry and lean meats are all excellent sources of protein.

If you are eating a salad, add some shrimp or chicken for protein. Other protein sources include soy, beans and eggs.

Finally, if you are snacking, nuts are a great source of protein. You can also look at food labels to see the breakdown of proteins, carbohydrates and fats.
