PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), fireworks are very easy to acquire and there are many people without formal training using them.

The CPSC says in the last 15 years, there were more than 11,000 serious fireworks injuries. The easiest way to avoid injury is to only allow someone with experience to be in charge. That person should not be impaired and should stand at a safe distance from others celebrating.

Keep a bucket of water or hose handy and never let children play with fireworks. You can celebrate but you must to be safe.
