PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Financial stress due to inflation can definitely have an impact on health.

A trip to the supermarket is all it takes for someone to realize that healthier foods — fruits and vegetables — are much more expensive. Even people with the best intentions might fill their shopping cart with less expensive and less healthy options.

And it doesn't end at the grocery store. According to the latest Gallup poll, 38% of people surveyed said they have put off health care or not filled prescriptions due to financial choices.

That staggering statistic is significant; lifestyle and early detection of health issues are our best defenses against serious illness.
