PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — High blood pressure is known as the silent killer. Yet, more than half the people with hypertension either don't know they have it or don't take medications that have been prescribed to treat it.

There are a wide variety of medications people can take in all price ranges. For many, certain lifestyle changes can be even more effective than pills.


Losing 10% of your weight over several months, cutting back on sodium, and exercising about two and a half hours per week can make huge improvements.
