PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Burnout has become a major issue in virtually every profession. It had been a problem for many years as companies reduce staff, and the pandemic only made the situation worse.
A new report in the Harvard Business Review that focuses on a Microsoft survey found that although front-line workers are suffering, more than 50% of their managers are feeling burned out as well.
The major concerns include an unsustainable workload, a lack of a supportive community and loyalty from senior administration. There is also a sense that there are mismatched values and skills. A final and very important concern is that employees at all levels fear speaking up, making symptoms even worse.
