PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Many of us grew up learning about the food pyramid. It was a great tool to help break down the different types of food groups and help guide us in our diets. However, times and technology have changed.
On the U.S. Department of Agriculture's website My Plate, the food pyramid has been replaced by a personalized plate that we can fill with our dietary needs and preferences. It allows us to factor in the price of food and our budgets.
You can use the site to learn about fruits, vegetables grains and proteins, as well as download apps to use on your phone.
