PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The No. 1 risk for children on Halloween is cars. Children are twice as likely to be hit by a car on Halloween than any other day.

If your children are heading out this Oct. 31, make sure they have reflective clothing. Another good idea is to carry a flashlight.

And for a wide variety of reasons, it makes sense to have an adult accompany the children while trick-or-treating.

Make sure to check all of the candy when the children return. If kids have allergies, look at the ingredients, and remove any treats that appear to have been tampered with.
