PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Arthritis attacks all age groups, but for those over 65, it is particularly aggressive. According to the CDC, more than half of adults 65 and older — about 30 million people — suffer from arthritis pain.
When you add people in younger age groups, the numbers are staggering. But young or old, there are things you can do to help.
First of all, be active! Walking, swimming, gardening or biking all work. You may want to check out physical activity programs in your area designed to help with the pain of arthritis.
If you are overweight, another big help is to lose weight. Don't be afraid to reach out for guidance and support. You are not alone.
