PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There are numerous studies about the economic impact of employees working from home. But what about the health impact?
Thus far, there is not as much information available. There are some studies being performed, but here are a few things we have learned.
Working exclusively from home can increase feelings of isolation due to reduced socialization. As annoying as a commute might be for an employee, the so-called water cooler conversations provide socialization.
On the flip side, reducing the time spent commuting means more time for things like food prep and exercise.
The story of the health impact is still being written. Some are saying that a blended experience might be most beneficial.
